Meet Your Counsellor

Erinn Doncaster Therapist Headshots - Joslyn Kilborn Photography-7.jpg

Erinn Doncaster (they/them) is the counsellor behind Coherence Counselling.  Over a decade ago while working at an independent bookstore that specialized in women's health, Erinn was introduced to two books that would set the course for their professional career - Spiritual Midwifery by Ina May Gaskin, and Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma by Peter Levine.

In the intervening years, Erinn has trained and worked as a birth and postpartum doula, graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Social Work specializing in Indigenous Child Welfare and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, worked in perinatal mental health research, completed the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute's three-year professional training, and helped many individuals and families move toward healing.  Currently, Erinn continues to indulge their passion for birth work by studying pre and perinatal developmental trauma healing work with Myrna Martin.

In addition to their professional expertise, Erinn understands the process of healing trauma from the inside out.  They know from personal experience that shining light on painful wounds takes courage, and they have great respect for all of their clients' courageous willingness to move toward healing.
